iSOS, which has been installed around the world, has once again had its use case proven. CNN recently reported on an initiative in Brazil where woman are given a so called “mobile panic button” to be used in situations where they are at risk.
It is interesting to note from the article that “According to the Brazilian Center for Latin American Studies, in 2010 13.2 in every 100,000 women were murdered in Vitoria, triple the national average of 4.4, which is already high. The Center’s figure for the United States is 2.1 women in every 100,000, as of 2007.” The full article can be read here.
This just goes to prove that iSOS and other similarly designed products are, unfortunately, in demand.
